Your rug is home

Our rugs are handmade to give you years of great use.  Your carpet at the beginning of its life in your home will release some fluff of wool.  Like all beautiful pieces, we avoid walking on the carpet with our shoes.

Vacuum cleaner

When you first vacuum your carpet, it will lose some wool from its surface. This is quite normal and will stop very quickly.

Hand washing

Please wash your rug only with mild soap.

Wool is a natural material and should be treated gently.

In case of dirt stains, you can use bicarbonate (baking soda) with water and brush your carpet with a soft brush. You can also use Aleppo soap, French soap (Savon de Marseille) or any other natural soap. Rinse the area with water and that's it.

If the carpet  is really dirty, you can wash it with plenty of water. You'll need a lot of water, so try to arrange to wash it on a deck or outside.

Use lots of water and add soap. You can use wool soap or another mild soap. Brush the carpet with a soft brush and rinse it thoroughly with water. Roll it once to wring it out and rinse again with water.

Roll it again to wring it out and open it to dry outside on a sunny day.

You should take into account that the wool will become very heavy and you should only do this on warm, sunny days.

Make sure you have 2 or 3 days of sunlight for the rug to dry completely.

UV for your rug:

How to keep wool white.

Once a year, you can put the rug in a sunny place for a few hours. The ultraviolet light makes the wool shiny and white.
